FLORIDA KEYS SPRING BREAK
Each year the Florida Keys are inundated with
thousands of college kids seeking to soak up as much fun and sun as possible. The favorite
stops? Holiday Isle in Islamorada
and Key
West of course. Why you ask? At the risk of sounding politically incorrect, we suggest
it may have something to do with the weekly bikini contests, cold drinks, warm water and
lots and lots of Sun.
Although Islamorada is not near as populated
as Key West, because Holiday Isle has always welcomed these fun seekers with open arms, it
has become one of the hottest spring break destinations in the United States. In addition
to the bikini contests and other Holiday Isle events tailored to the desires of the
breakers, the sandbar
(beach area) that borders the whale harbor channel is just minutes away from the Isle and
is easily accessible by boat, jet-ski, kayak or other watercraft that can be rented at the
Isle and other nearby locations.
Key West is a popular spring break destination
because of the many attractions it has to offer and the seemingly endless number of
"watering holes" and live entertainment at places like the Hogs Breath Saloon,
Rick's Cafe and the infamous Sloppy Joes.
Spring Break activities normally begin in early
March and last through the first week of April. |
